Introduction

In November 2009, US-based Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) was placed second in Fortune magazine’s list of ‘25 Top Companies for Leaders’.

Fortune, along with human resources consultants, Hewitt Associates (Hewitt)3, and strategic HR and leadership development advisor, the RBL Group4, assessed various companies in the list on their capacity to draw, preserve, and foster talent.

According to Fortune, P&G had excelled at the task of fostering leaders and had created new methods to assess its employees in the global marketplace, especially during tough economic times.
